The Prostate Cancer Education Council Privacy PolicyThe Prostate Cancer Education Council (PCEC) has always been committed to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and security of personal information about the men who participate in PCAW screenings. We are proud of our privacy practices and want you to know how we protect this information. The following outlines how we handle confidential information. How We Protect Your InformationPCEC has always considered the protection of sensitive Protected Health Information (PHI) to be a foundation of screening site trust and a sound business practice. We employ extensive physical, electronic and procedural controls in keeping with industry standards and practices, and we regularly adapt these controls to respond to changing requirements and advances in technology. We consider personal information to be confidential. We protect the privacy of that information in accordance with federal and state privacy laws, as well as our own company privacy policies. Within the PCEC we restrict access to PHI to those individuals who require it in order to provide services to our screening sites and their participants. PCEC employees all receive training specific to our privacy policies. The PCEC does not disclose any nonpublic personal information about your screening participants, except as permitted by law. Electronic and Data PrivacyThe PCEC uses a variety of proven protections to maintain the security of your information. For example, we use firewall barriers, encryption techniques and authentication procedures. We employ physical, electronic and procedural controls in keeping with industry standards and practices.
